Son Shoots Suspect in Home Invasion

A son shot and killed one of the suspects of home invasion who overnight in southwest Houston terrorized his family, police say. It all began when his father returned to their home on Quail Meadow Drive, where the three suspects were hiding in the bushes waiting for him to get back. That’s when he’s been pistol-whipped and forced to open the door. While the suspects robbed the home, the family’s two daughters, who ended up hiding in a closet and pushed the alarm of panic.
The suspects forced the father to try to disable the alarm, but his daughters kept pushing it. That’s when more people were home from the intruders realized. The daughters, one of whom is 20 years old, were eventually found. The other is fifteen years old.
The son and mother arrived at home simultaneously but in separate vehicles during the home invasion. The son noticed something wrong, walked inside the house, grabbing his pistol, shooting the suspects as they left, officials say.
One suspect was shot in the head, who also had a pistol. After hearing the shots, a neighbor ran to the house and tried to help the suspect who was injured.
“I was just trying to do CPR on the gentleman on the ground,” said Aryeh Ohayon.
It took the suspect to the hospital where he died. No one of the suspects fired back at the son is believed by the police. Meanwhile, the other two suspects jumped on the mother’s car’s hood while inside it was she and another juvenile.
She was able to drive off a nearby Whataburger and get help from a police officer. Detectives say the other two suspects got away with Texas license plate DGL-3948 in the father’s silver Toyota Sienna minivan. Call the police if you see the vehicle. No other members of the family have been injured.
Given the violent implications, the suspects are not to be approached, and if anyone sees them, authorities are to be called immediately. As for the son, who some claim acted valiantly, becoming a hero, his penalty is yet to be mentioned, if there is any at all for his actions. Whether or not he will face any legal consequences is just one side of the coin, moreover. The downside to his actions would be the potential PTSD he might suffer from due to shooting another human being. One casualty is enough to leave a lasting impression for life. These types of situations affect everyone differently, so nobody knows yet how he will react upon introspection.
