Herbalife Nutrition Gives Back: February is the Month of Purpose

Herbalife Nutrition Gives Back

Herbalife Nutrition, the premier global nutrition company focused on making the world a happier and healthier place by helping individuals reach their health and fitness goals, is embarking on yet another philanthropic endeavor. This time, Herbalife Nutrition aims to donate over 10,000 volunteer hours during the month of February in various ways and through various partnerships with charitable organizations. To meet this goal, the company has scheduled hundreds of volunteer events as part of its launch of the Global Month of Purpose initiative. The initiative is in line with the company’s already established year-round program that focuses on creating opportunities for Herbalife Nutrition’s nearly 8,300 employees and independent distributors to help those in need around the world as much as they can.

Herbalife Nutrition’s philanthropic agenda focuses primarily on helping under-served communities, and February’s volunteering activities are centered around the goal of helping those who are in the highest need. According to the Herbalife Nutrition Foundation, activities will include volunteering at Casa Herbalife Nutrition programs and supporting neighborhood food kitchens.  As such, employees and distributors will collaborate with organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Regional Food Banks, the American Red Cross, SOS Children’s Village, Smile Foundation, Action for Children, A Place Called Home, and the Surfrider Foundation.

Partnership to Save Lives with American Red Cross

The partnership with the American Red Cross includes activities such as donating blood and staffing blood drives. This, however, is neither the first or only time that Herbalife Nutrition has partnered with the Red Cross. The company has previously made large donations of its Protein Deluxe Bars to over 100 blood donation centers nationwide. Just last month, a total of almost 280,000 bars – a donation whose retail value is half a million dollars – was donated to centers run by the American Red Cross all over the US.

Furthermore, Herbalife Nutrition continuously encourages all of its employees, independent distributors, and customers to donate blood if they are able to do so. And if they are not in the vicinity of one of the company’s blood donation centers, Herbalife Nutrition urges stakeholders to give blood at an American Red Cross blood drive in their area. Given that Herbalife Nutrition has over 8,000 employees, more than three million independent distributors, and millions of customers, this culminates in a powerful blood donation mobilizing effort.

Other volunteering efforts made by Herbalife Nutrition are events such as the brand’s Foundation Bike Ride that took place this month. Herbalife Nutrition Foundation is a non-profit organization aimed at helping children in need to have access to better nutrition. The annual bike ride is organized by Herbalife Nutrition distributors in support of the Foundation and has raised more than $250,000 since 2014.  The 5 day bike riding journey travels to Adelaide from Torquay in Victoria, Australia. The cyclists left Torquay on February 2, stopped in Kingston on February 4, and they spent the night at the Kingston Caravan Park. They finished the ride in Adelaide on February 7.

A total of 24 riders and 22 crew members trained to participate in the event that raises thousands of dollars for kids in need every year. The cyclists rode through various towns within Victoria and South Australia where they stopped to connect with the community.
