With summer just around the corner, it’s time to begin thinking about what kind of shape you want to be in during the year’s most opportune season for showing off your best self. With warmer weather come more revealing clothing, made of lighter fabrics, and the desire to enjoy a slimmer and more toned silhouette in order to look your best in your summer wardrobe.
Subtle facial improvements will also help you put your best face forward as you head from spring into summer, allowing you to wear less makeup and show off a more relaxed expression with fewer wrinkles and lines.
Dr. Sameer (Sam) Jejurikar, an internationally renowned cosmetic surgeon who maintains a state-of-the-art plastic surgery facility at Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute in Texas, is offering special summertime makeovers for patients who want to upgrade their image in time for the sun and fun of summertime!
Step into Summer with a More Youthful Appearance!
- Are you concerned about the aged appearance of your face, neck, or décolleté region?
- Are you ready to do something about those unsightly jowls and double chin?
- Are your limp and sagging breasts begging for a little pick-me-up?
- Do you have saddlebags, love handles, or lax, sagging skin on your back, flanks, hips, or abdomen that prevent you from splurging on a new bikini or showing off a tight, fit body at the beach?
- Do you long for the lost tone and firmness you once enjoyed in your upper arms and thighs?
- Is your diet and exercise regimen failing to produce the desired thigh gap?
- Do you have cellulite or crepe paper skin that keeps your thighs from looking great in shorts?
All of these conditions can be easily corrected in time for summer if you act now. In many cases, dramatic improvements may even be achieved without surgery, keeping costs more affordable, while also reducing the recovery period.
Dr. Jejurikar recommends that you consider the following cosmetic procedures in order to dramatically improve your appearance in time for summer.
Radiofrequency for Skin Tightening with Fat Removal
To tighten flaccid skin in the face and body, while also removing fatty deposits in the jowls, upper arms, and thighs, as well as problem areas in the torso, Dr. Jejurikar is thrilled to provide BodyTite treatments for his patients in the greater Dallas area who want to achieve dramatic results while avoiding plastic surgery.
BodyTite is a minimally invasive treatment that provides dramatic sculpting and contouring results in both the face and body, achieving improvements that were once only achievable through far more aggressive surgical procedures.
BodyTite harnesses advanced radiofrequency technology to provide an excellent and far safer alternative to procedures such as liposuction and plastic surgery, with no incisions, no scarring, and practically no downtime or extended recovery period.
BodyTite achieves 3-D remodeling of facial tissue as well as contouring and sculpting of problem areas in the body, such as love handles, saddle bags, bra bulges, and fatty deposits and sagging skin in areas such as the flanks, hips, abdomen, arms, and thighs, through the use of radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL). This technology achieves remarkable results by means of a temperature-regulated volumetric heating system that coagulates and breaks down fatty tissue while also tightening the skin.
With BodyTite treatments, you can achieve the sculpting and contouring results you’ve been dreaming of and dramatically improve the tone and firmness of your face and body, taking years off your appearance and allowing you to flaunt a newly-rejuvenated beach body within a short period.
BodyTite treatments are painless and provide natural-looking, long-lasting results that are actually comparable to those produced by surgery and liposuction. BodyTite is also less costly than plastic surgery, and requires a much shorter recovery period, so you can get to the beach to show off your tighter, younger-looking appearance as soon as possible, and still have some cash left over to splurge on a new bikini!
Crisalix 3-D Imaging Prior to Breast Enhancement
If you’re interested in breast enhancement procedures such as breast augmentation or breast reconstruction with implants, you are probably wondering exactly how much larger you actually want your breasts to be, and what size implant you’ll need to choose to achieve your goal. You may also be wondering what shape your new breasts will assume, depending on the type of implants you select.
Many breast augmentation patients wish they had been better able to visualize their implant options prior to undergoing their breast enhancement procedure, in order to comfortably select the most flattering size and shape breast implants before their surgery. Since there are so many different sizes and shapes of breast implants to choose from, it really helps patients to be able to visually appraise how each implant option will alter their appearance. Exercising this option will also drastically reduce the likelihood of opting for a breast revision procedure once you realize that your new implants actually make your chest look too large, or that your new breasts don’t look as natural as you had hoped in relationship to the rest of your body.
While a skilled plastic surgeon can help you make a smart decision as far as which types of breast implants will best help you to achieve the goal you seek, there’s nothing like seeing for yourself what your results will look like ahead of time so you can rest easy that you’ve made the best choice when the time comes.
At his private practice at Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, Dr. Jejurikar uses Crisalix, a 3-D imaging program that allows patients to plug in an image of their actual body and “try on” different breast implants in order to visually assess just how each implant will look once in place.
Taking advantage of this 3-D imaging service before undergoing your surgery will ultimately save you time, money, and possible regret by ensuring that the implants that you select for your breast augmentation procedure will be the perfect choice for you!
Breast Augmentation Using Natural Fat Transfer
Breast enhancement using the fat transfer or fat grafting method is a newer cosmetic procedure that is rapidly gaining popularity among patients who desire a more natural look and feel than the results that may be accomplished through the insertion of saline or silicone breast implants.
Physicians such as Dr. Jejurikar are also excited at the possibility of providing lower-cost, less-invasive breast augmentation options to their patients who choose to bypass implant surgery. Using the patient’s own body fat to enhance the breasts is a much safer and less invasive procedure than breast implant surgery, and fat grafting produces minimal scarring in comparison to surgical breast augmentation, since the procedure requires no incisions.
The fat transfer procedure is also easier to perform, less painful, and safer than surgical breast augmentation with implants, as it requires no incisions, and the body will naturally adapt more easily to the transfer of its own fat than to the insertion of a foreign object.
The only potential downside to fat grafting is the fact that the body may naturally absorb some of the transferred fat, and the procedure may need to be performed more than once in order to obtain the desired results. But even this downside is not entirely a disadvantage, if you consider the fact that, in these instances, your augmentation will occur more gradually, making the process less noticeable to others, and allowing you to adapt to your new shape more naturally. Once the transferred fat becomes established, the body will cease to absorb it and begin to assimilate it as a simple gain in fat, increasing volume and fullness in the breasts.
While the fat transfer procedure may not augment the breasts as dramatically as breast implants in some cases, most patients are able to achieve a satisfactory augmentation that looks and feels more like natural breast tissue by means of the fat grafting procedure. In fact, some patients have even been able to double their breast size using the fat transfer method.
The procedure also reduces the risk of the typical complications that may be associated with breast implants over the long term, such as capsular contraction, shifting, or rippling of the implant, which may occur in some cases as a consequence of traditional surgical augmentation after a number of years.
In fact, many breast augmentation patients who have had their implants for years are now deciding to revise their augmentation procedure and replace their implants with a transfer of their own body fat in order to achieve a more natural look and feel while also reducing the likelihood of requiring future revision surgery to maintain their results. So you may also save money, particularly over the long-term, by choosing fat transfer over implants.
The fat transfer procedure also provides a dual benefit, as it involves extracting excess fatty tissue from areas where you don’t want it, such as the hips, flanks, abdomen, and thighs, and transferring that excess fat to the breasts to increase volume and fullness where you do want it.
The extraction from the harvest sites is performed via liposuction, which uses a gentle suctioning process to extract fat from these regions. The fat is then liquefied and transferred directly into the breasts by means of special injections, bypassing the need for surgical incisions and stitches. The results produce increased tone and tightness in the harvest regions, with added fullness and volume in the breasts.
With little to no risk of complications, minimal scarring, and dramatically reduced downtime when compared to breast implant procedures, fat grafting provides the ultimate win-win-win situation.
Dermal Fillers with Hyaluronic Acid for Longer Lasting Results
While Botox is still the world’s most popular dermal injection treatment, many people don’t realize that there are a lot of alternatives to Botox. Many of these dermal fillers produce longer-lasting results than Botox, and some are designed for specific areas of the face, such as the lips, midface region, lips, and nasolabial folds, sometimes known as “marionette lines” or “parentheses.”
Botox is a Botulinum toxin type A injection treatment that works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that are known to cause certain wrinkles and lines, such as crow’s feet and furrows in the forehead. While Botox injections have been proven safe over the many years that they have been on the market, many of the newer dermal filler treatments work by means of a safer and more natural substance known as Hyaluronic acid (HA).
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance produced by the human body in particularly large quantities in the areas of the joints, eyes, and skin. The function of Hyaluronic acid is to attract and retain essential moisture in these vital areas of the body. As we age, our natural production of this essential acid diminishes, particularly in the skin, our largest organ, which is regularly exposed to the damaging effects of the elements, such as sunlight, wind, pollutants, cosmetics, cigarette smoke, and other irritants.
A broad range of dermal fillers containing natural, plant-sourced Hyaluronic acid is now available to help improve the tone and texture of the skin, while also enhancing volume and fullness in specific areas, filling in wrinkles and lines, and imparting a smoother and firmer appearance to the skin by fortifying the skin cells.
HA injections also provide the added benefit of increased skin improvements that take place gradually over time, in some cases for a period of several months, as the increase in the skin’s HA attracts and retains additional moisture, naturally filling in lines and wrinkles, making skin cells plumper, firmer, and more moist. HA also provides natural protection for the skin from elemental damage by ensuring that the skin cells don’t dry out.
Dermal fillers containing Hyaluronic acid often produce longer-lasting results when compared to Botox treatments, which typically last only about 3-4 months. Some HA-based dermal fillers may provide results lasting much longer than this, in some cases for as long as one to two years.
The many options to choose from are quite varied when it comes to Hyaluronic acid injections, and many products are designed to treat specific conditions and various areas of the face. While all dermal fillers are delivered by means of injections directly into the skin, the angle, depth, and placement of these injections is determined by the product and the area to be treated.
Some fillers are thicker than others, such as Sculptra, Voluma, Restylane Lyft, and Juvederm Ultra Plus, making them excellent treatments for deeper folds such as marionette lines in the mid-face region, or increasing volume in the area of the cheekbones.
Others have a thinner, more delicate consistency that make them ideal for filling in surface lines and wrinkles, such as Juvederm, Restylane Silk, and Belotero. Products such as Restylane Silk may be used specifically to enhance the lips and lower face, reducing the appearance of vertical “smoker’s lines” above the lip line, and increasing plumpness, volume, and definition in the lips themselves. Many patients have found that by simply enhancing the appearance of their lips and lower face, they can achieve a significantly younger-looking appearance in a matter of minutes.
Hyaluronic acid products are also more versatile than Botox and other Botulinum toxin products. While HA-based dermal filler injections also have variable treatment durations, most of them tend to last longer than Botox.
For example, Restylane Silk lip injections may last as long as six months, while treatments such as Restylane Lyft in the mid-face region may last from nine months to a year. Voluma injections, which contain a far thicker gel formula than other products, may produce far longer-lasting results in the mid-face, diminishing the appearance of nasolabial folds for as long as 24 months in most cases.
Nevertheless, for patients who have experienced excellent results from Botox and want to continue seeing these results with Botulinum-based injections, there are an assortment of new, longer-lasting Botulinum-based alternatives to Botox currently seeking FDA approval that will be flooding the market within the next year or so.
Dermal filler treatments, be they HA-based or Botulinum injections, may also be combined with other procedures, such as skin tightening and fat transfer injections, in order to achieve the most comprehensive makeover available without surgery.
