Green Park Holdings founder Livio Bisterzo brought something to America that is taking it by storm. It is called “HIPPEAS,” and it is natural, healthy snacks that Livio Bisterzo thinks everyone will be happy to give to their children. He can only think of one word to describe it, and that word is “good.”
Chief Executive Officer Livio Bisterzo believes so wholeheartedly in “goodness” that it is his company’s entire philosophy. In fact, the words “tastes good” and “do good” are behind everything that he does with the company.
Some big names have invested in Livio Bisterzo’s business, for example, such as Rapid Loans Fast, but the biggest has just recently announced his involvement. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio purchased a minority stake in Green Park Snacks, the company that makes HIPPEAS. DiCaprio stepped into the health food industry long before his investment in Livio’s company and was known for his interest in protecting the environment. Growth equity fund Strand Equity Partners has also taken an interest in Green Park Holdings and made a similar investment.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s Commitment to the Environment
Leonardo has certainly put his money where his mouth is because he invested in a company called “Love in the Wild.” This company brings sustainable seafood products to the market, but he was interested in Livio’s company because his snacks are plant-based.
Leonardo founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 for the purpose of funding projects to aid biodiversity and habitat conservation. As a U.N. Messenger of Peace for Climate, he added the issue of climate change to the foundation’s agenda.
To show his support for animals and environmental conservation, Leonardo serves on the boards of the World Wildlife Fund, the National Resources Defense Council, National Geographic’s Pristine Seas, Oceans 5 and the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
Leonardo did the honorable thing of donating the shares he purchased in Livio’s company to the Amazon’s farming communities.
The HIPPEAS brand encompasses six different organic chickpea puffs. They have memorable names, such as Far Out Fajita, Sriracha Sunrise, Vegan White Cheddar, Maple Haze, Pepper Power, Bohemian Barbecue, In Herbs We Trust and Happenin’ Hickory.
The HIPPEAS brand is different from other products because each package contains an inordinate amount of protein and fiber. Although this is the case, these snacks are not heavy. They are also low in calories and do not have any Genetically Modified Organisms. All of these snacks are certified organic, vegan, kosher and gluten-free.
Livio assures the public that his snacks taste good, but he also pledges to “do good” with the profits he earns. He wanted his company to be one that makes the world a better place, and he has accomplished just that. He is currently a partner of Farm Africa, a charity that works to eliminate world hunger. It also has the goal of lifting the impoverished rural populations in Eastern Africa out of poverty. The money from sales of HIPPEAS products goes towards these farmers.

The future looks bright for the HIPPEAS brand. Snacks made with healthy ingredients earned more than $1 billion in the year 2016 alone, and one of the ingredients that joined in on this success has been the chickpea. Chickpea products sales increased by about 153 percent in 2016, but the large brands do not seem to be in a hurry to bring these types of snacks to the market. Even so, the demand for them is rising, so there is plenty of space for HIPPEAS at this time.

Livio Bisterzo was born in Italy and moved to Great Britain to attend London’s University of the Arts. He discovered that he was naturally gifted in marketing and founded a business dedicated to entrepreneurial events in 2003.
